Kazakh figure skater Mikhail Shaydorov has commented on his performance at the first stage of the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix in Angers, France, where the Olympic champion made several errors in the short and free programs, infohub.kz reports.
Shaydorov finished the competition with 206.55 points in tenth place. The result will not be enough to qualify him for the Grand Prix Final.
The athlete shared his feelings after the event on his Instagram account. "It's hard to find the words after a start like this. Things don't always turn out the way we'd like. The ice is slippery. I see how much you care, I read your messages and I am very grateful to each of you for your support. Thank you for sharing not only the victories with me, but the defeats too, because they are also part of the journey. I promise not to give up and to come back stronger. Rakhmet to everyone!" Shaydorov wrote.
The Kazakh skater's next outing will be the Grand Prix stage in Shenzhen, China, on November 6–8.
