Mojang Studios has officially announced the release date for Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will feature ray tracing and an updated Super Mario Mash-Up pack, as reported by infohub.kz.

The Swedish studio Mojang Studios has officially announced the launch of the full version of the popular sandbox game Minecraft for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. The game will be available to players on October 27, 2026. Previously, the title was only playable on the new system through backward compatibility.

The main new feature is the Vibrant Visuals graphics mode, which will be enabled by default. It provides improved lighting, more realistic shadows, fog, and high-quality visual effects that noticeably refresh the familiar blocky world. The technology will also be supported in most content from the Minecraft Marketplace. The Super Mario Mash-Up pack, exclusive to Nintendo platforms, will also be updated to take advantage of the new graphical capabilities.

The developers have confirmed that owners of the original Nintendo Switch version will be able to take advantage of a digital upgrade program, and all saved worlds will transfer automatically. Mojang will reveal details and conditions of the upgrade closer to release.
