The 2028 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be held in San Francisco, as announced by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on Friday. The game will take place at Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. This will be the fourth time the Giants host the Midsummer Classic, with the previous games at Candlestick Park in 1961 and 1984, and at Oracle Park in 2007. The 2007 game featured Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki's famous inside-the-park home run that bounced off the tricky wall in right-center field.
Manfred praised San Francisco's passionate fanbase, world-class ballpark, and rich baseball history, stating that the city will be an outstanding host for All-Star Week. He also noted that the event will bring excitement to the Bay Area, which has recently hosted the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
Oracle Park will become the eighth active ballpark to host the All-Star Game multiple times, joining Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Angel Stadium, Dodger Stadium, Progressive Field, Coors Field, and T-Mobile Park.
