Samat Kussetov, head of the third department of the organized crime combat division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, warned citizens about fraudulent schemes when seeking employment abroad during a roundtable at the Central Communications Service, reports infohub.kz.
According to Kussetov, the fight against human trafficking is carried out by all authorized bodies, including with the assistance of Interpol. He emphasized that a decent employer will never seek employees through messengers like Telegram and WhatsApp and will not demand a passport upfront. "They will first ask for education documents and language proficiency. So I wanted to warn our citizens not to fall for the scammers' tricks," the ministry representative urged.
Earlier that same day, Stanislav Vasilenko, ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, reported cases where Kazakh citizens become victims of international human traffickers.
