Minister of Industry and Construction Yersaiyn Nagaspayev at a cabinet briefing outlined plans to increase the availability of new cars for Kazakhstanis, reports infohub.kz.

The minister previously stated the intention to make cars more affordable in Kazakhstan, including by removing the debt burden ratio (DBR) from auto lending calculations. Journalists asked whether this initiative has been coordinated with the National Bank and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, which are working to reduce household debt.

"This is our strong wish, our proposal that we will insist on. It is effective until the end of the year, but we have submitted this proposal to the government as well, and we want, from the government's position, for the National Bank to meet us halfway and finally take our position into account. This measure is in effect until the end of the year, but we will definitely work on this issue. This is our fundamental position," Yersaiyn Nagaspayev said.
