Over the first nine months of this year, units of Kazakhstan's National Guard detained and handed over to internal affairs bodies more than 13,000 violators, 300 of whom are suspected of committing serious criminal offenses. This was announced at the Military Council at the Main Command of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov and Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard Ansagan Baltabekov met, reports infohub.kz.

The agency heads summed up the work since the beginning of the year and described how guards ensured public order. In particular, National Guard patrols conducted more than 2,300 street patrols. In addition to detaining violators, servicemen ensured security at five international political events and eighteen visits by foreign heads of state and official delegations, the National Guard press service noted.

Furthermore, the so-called "triplets" — patrol units — prevented 64 attempts to smuggle prohibited items into prisons. Also, more than 55,000 arrested and convicted persons were transported across the country.

The agency's report states that construction continues on military camps in Almaty, Turkestan, and Zhezkazgan, barracks in Uralsk, Kyzylorda, and Atyrau, as well as buildings and structures of the National Guard Academy. Contracts have been signed for major repairs of seven facilities.

At the end of the meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov instructed to improve work with new recruits, monitor discipline, take care of soldiers, and continue updating equipment and buildings in military units.

Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev received Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov, who reported on the agency's results for the nine months of the year. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the country's crime rate decreased by 15% — in absolute terms, 11,000 fewer offenses were registered than a year earlier.
