In the Zhambyl region, a dispute over a flooded apartment has ended with reconciliation: two neighbors agreed to pay 800,000 tenge by April 2027, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the Zhambyl regional courts, in December 2025, the plaintiff's apartment in the city of Karatau was repeatedly flooded from the apartment above. As a result, water damaged the ceiling and walls.

The fact of flooding was confirmed by an inspection report from the Karatau akimat apparatus. According to the estimate, the cost of repairs amounted to 1.3 million tenge. Taking into account the expenses for the damage assessment, the plaintiff sought to recover more than 1.4 million tenge from the two defendants.

As a result of conciliation procedures with the participation of a judge-mediator, the parties reached an agreement to settle the dispute through mediation.

Under the agreement, the defendants are jointly obliged to pay the plaintiff 800,000 tenge in monthly installments of 100,000 tenge, starting from September 2026 until April 2027.

In addition, the defendants are jointly obliged to pay 112,000 tenge to the state budget to cover the costs of the judicial examination.

In turn, the plaintiff withdrew her claim.

Considering that the terms of the agreement do not contradict the law and do not violate the rights and legitimate interests of third parties, the court approved it and terminated the proceedings.

The plaintiff was refunded the state fee paid.

The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
