A new akim has been appointed in Temirtau. Sapar Satayev was selected for the position, with his candidacy presented by Karaganda region governor Yermaganbet Bulekpaev, who outlined the key tasks facing the new city head, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Karaganda region akimat, the governor emphasized that the new akim faces tasks of improving residents' quality of life, developing urban infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of Temirtau.
Yermaganbet Bulekpaev said that Sapar Satayev has significant experience in public administration, is well-versed in socio-economic development of territories, and possesses the necessary management skills. The governor also noted that Satayev's work experience in Balkhash enabled him to build effective cooperation with large industrial enterprises. This experience will be valuable in Temirtau, where the city's economy is dominated by a major metallurgical plant that is the backbone of the local economy.
Bulekpaev recalled that under Satayev's leadership in previous years, large-scale projects were implemented to modernize heating and water supply systems, repair roads, and develop municipal infrastructure, which improved the reliability of utility networks and the quality of services provided.
"Sapar Kairkenovich, your main task is to improve the quality of life for Temirtau residents, create a comfortable and safe urban environment, and ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the city," said the governor of the Karaganda region.
Sapar Satayev began his career in 2002 at the state enterprise "KazakhAutodor." Over the years, he held positions as deputy director and acting director of the municipal enterprise "Botakara Su Kozhalygy." He has been in public service since 2010. He served as the head of the village of Botakara in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district of the Karaganda region. From 2013 to 2015, he was the akim of the city of Abai, then worked as deputy akim of Bukhar-Zhyrau district. Later, he became the akim of Priozersk city. From May 2023 until his new appointment, he headed the city of Balkhash.
Speaking to Temirtau's community leaders, Sapar Satayev noted that he is well acquainted with the city's life, understands its main problems, and knows what solutions residents expect. "Temirtau has always been a city where honest work, responsibility, and concrete actions are valued. That is what my work will focus on," the new akim emphasized. According to him, the focus will remain on improving the quality of life, developing urban infrastructure, and consistently addressing the most pressing issues concerning Temirtau residents.
