Kazakhstan has recorded the emergence of a new island in the Caspian Sea. According to Yerbolat Mukhashov, founder of Caspian Holiday, this natural phenomenon is linked to the drop in water levels, as reported by infohub.kz.
Mukhashov said that in the northern Caspian, particularly in the area of islands inhabited by Caspian seals (Kulaly, Morskoy, Svyatoy, Podgorny, Usharal, Mayakshykan, Dolgiy), new land areas have begun to form over the past 4-5 years due to the sea level decline.
"One of the recently appeared islands is Rybachy, located to the east of Svyatoy Island. The new island is about 500 meters east of Svyatoy Island and approximately 30 kilometers from the village of Bautino," he shared.
The company founder noted that the main inhabitants of the islands are wolves. Wild boars and badgers are also found here. Various species of fish and birds inhabit the coastal waters and islands.
"We managed to visit the island with the assistance of Daniyar Akimzhanov, a well-known defender of the Caspian Sea and eco-expert in Mangystau. This territory is distinguished by its amazing and picturesque nature," said Mukhashov.
