The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated 7 billion tenge from a special fund for the construction of a new school in Astana. According to plans, it should reduce the burden on four existing educational institutions, reports infohub.kz.
The new school with 1,200 student places is being built in the capital's Nura district. Construction and installation works are currently underway at the site. The school is promised to be completed by the end of next year.
The Cabinet noted that the need for the new educational facility is driven by demographic growth.
"In the building block, there are currently 4 state schools, but there is still a shortage of student places. The new facility will reduce the load on the existing educational institutions in the capital – schools No. 84, 85, 89, and 97," the government clarified.
The authorities reminded that in the education sector, a total of 17 projects worth 64.4 billion tenge have been approved. The funds will be directed towards the construction of new educational infrastructure facilities and the creation of modern conditions for the education of children and youth.
