Ahead of the new school year, residents of the villages of Kyzylkak and Atygai in the Pavlodar region have received modern schools. Construction of the new buildings began after residents appealed to the regional governor, Asain Baikhanov, reports infohub.kz.
In the village of Kyzylkak, Irtysh district, home to about 300 people, the new school was built in just nine months. The request for its construction was made in 2024 at the governor's public meeting with residents. As a result, over one billion tenge was allocated from the regional budget. "Kyzylkak is one of the most remote villages in the region, more than 300 km from the regional center. Today, 260 people live here, 94 of them children. This means the village has a future," said Asain Baikhanov.
The new building will accommodate 76 students, although the school is designed for 100. The teaching staff is fully staffed with 20 teachers. There is also a mini-center where 17 children have already been enrolled. Modern conditions have been created: classrooms, a computer lab, a library, a cafeteria, and a medical office are equipped, and interactive whiteboards have been installed. The school also has a pre-school preparation class.
In the village of Atygai, in the Ekibastuz rural zone, a new school also opened. Previously, children studied in a converted building of a former kindergarten, which lacked proper conditions: classes were held in two shifts, and there was no gym or assembly hall. "Let's just say, yes, we had some inconvenience. When Asain Kuandykovich visited our village and our old school, he saw with his own eyes the inconveniences for organizing educational processes. After that, he gave the order to build a new school," said Aidos Zainyshev, director of Atygai Secondary School.
The school in Atygai was built within a year with sponsor funds of about 1.5 billion tenge. Now children will study in a two-story building equipped with chemistry, biology, physics, and military training classrooms, a large gym and assembly hall, a cafeteria, and outdoor sports grounds. In the new school year, 120 children will attend the school, and another 7 children are enrolled in the mini-center.
"This academic year, we are launching 844 organizations across the Pavlodar region, including 362 schools. We will welcome more than 116,000 students, of whom 10,850 will go to first grade. This year, we helped more than 13,000 children through the universal education fund and the 'Road to School' campaign, totaling over 700 million tenge. Major repairs were carried out in 22 organizations, including 10 secondary education institutions. Also, 42 new-modification classrooms were purchased, and textbooks were delivered in full. Today, all schools are ready for the educational process," said Aigerim Abenova, head of the Education Department of the Pavlodar region.
In total, over the past three years, eight new schools have been built in rural areas of the Pavlodar region. Thanks to this work, the problem of emergency schools has been completely solved in the region.
