Last night, rescuers in the mountains of Almaty found a young man and woman who had gotten lost. The search and rescue operation took place at an altitude of 2,600 meters, reports infohub.kz.
The young people got lost in the Karasai district of the Almaty region, near the "Terra" clearing. A distress call was received at the emergency number "112" from a young man who reported that he and his companion had lost their way. His phone was almost out of battery, and soon contact with them was lost.
Rescuers from the Almaty City Monitoring and Rapid Response Center immediately set out to search. As a result, a young man born in 2006 and a young woman born in 2005 were found. The rescuers escorted them to the "Alma-Arasan" parking lot. They did not require medical assistance and went home on their own.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded about safety rules: "Before going to the mountains, inform your loved ones of your route in advance, check the weather forecast, take a fully charged phone and a power bank. Do not go to the mountains alone and do not leave safe routes."
