Burnley head coach Niki Hyen expressed his frustration after his side drew 2-2 with Charlton in the tenth round of the Championship. His team conceded a decisive goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time, letting victory slip away, infohub.kz reports.

"It's probably a mix of emotions, but above all disappointment. For 95 minutes and 40 seconds we competed in duels, fought for second balls, blocked shots. But the match lasted 96 minutes. We've already had an example like this in the game against Derby County. We lost four points in 10 seconds. In such a tough league, four points mean a huge amount," Burnley Express quotes Hyen as saying.

Burnley twice took the lead against Charlton. In the 36th minute Jacob Bruun Larsen opened the scoring, and after the break Kane Ramsey restored parity. Already in the 57th minute Largie Ramazani put the hosts ahead again, but in the 90+6th minute Ivan Mesik brought the visitors a draw.

Hyen specifically addressed the episode that preceded the second conceded goal. According to the coach, Burnley controlled the ball at the corner flag and had a two-on-one numerical advantage, but failed to see the episode through.

"I'm not going to point fingers at anyone in particular. But we had the best possible situation – a throw-in from the corner of the pitch, two players against one and the advantage on our side. In such a situation you have to act ruthlessly," the specialist noted.

The head coach added that the team must do better in the closing stages of matches. Earlier, Burnley also let victory slip against Derby (1-1), conceding late in the match.

"You have to expect the unexpected. We must manage such situations better, especially at the end of the match. We will have to analyse all the goals we conceded in stoppage time," Hyen said.

Recall that Dastan Satpaev was not included in Burnley's squad for the match against Charlton. As it turned out, Chelsea, which holds the rights to the 18-year-old footballer, did not give permission for him to play in the match. In the previous round Satpaev returned to the pitch after injury and played in the winning match against Watford (4-0).

After ten matches Burnley have collected eight points and sit 21st in the Championship table. The team has one win, five draws and four defeats.
