Kazakh athlete Nilufar Raimova has claimed a bronze medal at the 2026 Summer Asian Games hosted by Japan, according to infohub.kz.

The national team member competed in women's wrestling in the 57-kilogram weight class. In the bronze-medal bout she faced Netmi Ahinsa Fernando Porutotage of Sri Lanka.

Raimova seized the advantage in the first period and led 5:1. After the break she kept piling up points, adding eight more. The bout ended in her early victory by technical superiority, 13:1.

Raimova thus climbed onto the third step of the podium, bringing Kazakhstan another bronze medal in wrestling at the 2026 Asian Games.

Another member of the national team, Shugyla Omirbek, also wrestled for bronze that day. In the 53-kilogram weight class the Kazakh faced China's Zhang Jin. Her opponent won 8:2, finishing the bout by fall. Omirbek ended up fifth at the Asian Games.

The bouts involving Raimova and Omirbek were the last for Kazakhstan's representatives in wrestling at the 2026 Asian Games. The national team has thus completed its performance in the sport.
