Minister of Education Zholdas Suleimenova clarified at a government briefing that parents will not face fines for contacting teachers outside working hours, as reported by infohub.kz.

Journalists reminded that the minister had previously announced plans to regulate communication between teachers and parents outside working hours, raising the question of whether new rules and penalties would be introduced for those who violate teachers' personal boundaries.

"No, no fines are planned for such parents. There are no such plans," emphasized Zholdas Suleimenova.

According to her, the focus is on developing ethical norms to help society understand which questions can be addressed with teachers after lessons and which are better postponed until the next day. The minister noted that teachers, like everyone else, need personal time and rest, as well as preparation for upcoming classes.

"Teachers are also human beings; they have personal time and working hours, and they must also prepare for the next day. I wanted to convey to society that teachers need to recharge, including emotionally. Today, 4.1 million children study in Kazakhstan's schools, we have about 8 million parents, and only 420,000 teachers," explained the head of the Ministry of Education.

Suleimenova paid special attention to the need to regulate parent chat groups. She noted that the ministry is currently collecting discussions and comments, and many parents support the initiative. Earlier, it was proposed not to discuss issues after 18:00, but due to the existence of two-shift schools where lessons end at 20:00, the focus is shifting.

"Parents understand which issues are urgent and which can be left out of chats. It is also necessary to determine in which chats teachers should be present and in which they should not. A regulation is needed here," the minister stated.

The ministry is ready to develop unified norms that will regulate all aspects of parent chat work. "The time has come; it cannot continue like this," concluded Zholdas Suleimenova.

Earlier, it was reported that the Minister of Education explained whether teachers in Kazakhstan can refuse to communicate with parents after 18:00.
