Nolan's 'Odyssey' Grosses $1.1B, Becomes His Highest-Grossing Film

Christopher Nolan's epic drama "Odyssey" has set two historic box office records worldwide after its fourth weekend, according to infohub.kz.

As reported by Variety, the adaptation of Homer's poem has earned $1.1 billion globally, with $461 million from North America and $643 million from international markets. This surpasses "The Dark Knight Rises" ($1.085 billion) to become Nolan's highest-grossing film.

Additionally, the film has overtaken James Cameron's "Avatar" to become the highest-grossing IMAX release ever, with $289 million from IMAX screens compared to the previous record holder's $271 million.

Starring Matt Damon, "Odyssey" is the first feature film shot entirely with IMAX cameras. Its release in China begins on August 14, which is expected to boost its final tally further.
