Kazakh actor and producer Nurtas Adambai has stated that he has removed all his films in which male actors dressed in women's clothing, reports infohub.kz.
In an interview with the YouTube channel "KinoSolidarity," Adambai spoke about his move to the United States and admitted that he has reconsidered many aspects of his life. He noted that he decided to delete his films featuring cross-dressing characters from all official sources.
"Regarding the boundary... I used to hold one opinion, but a person can change their views. As for the films I made, honestly, I have deleted them; they are not officially available. Maybe someone is posting them somewhere without permission, but officially these films are nowhere to be found because I have changed my mind. Today I believe that such films should not be made or shown, where someone male might dress in women's clothing. I have changed my opinion here, although I used to stubbornly insist on the opposite," Adambai stated.
He added that the state should monitor and decide what is shown on television and in cinemas. He also stated that films should not romanticize crimes.
