A 7-year-old boy with developmental disabilities who went missing in the Abai Region has been found alive in an agricultural field four kilometers from Urzhar, infohub.kz reports.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police searched yards, streets, and the banks of reservoirs for the child. The boy left the yard during the day while under the care of his grandparents. Relatives first tried to find him on their own, then contacted the police. The grandmother said her grandson has developmental disabilities and asked for help in the search as soon as possible.

"At around 16:00, Police Captain Azamat Duisebayev and Senior Police Lieutenant Rolan Baitleuov found the boy in an agricultural field four kilometers from Urzhar," police said.

The child's relatives were immediately informed that he had been found.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that in May a 7-year-old boy with autism was found two kilometers from a settlement in the Abai Region. In July, in Pavlodar Region, a 9-year-old child walked about seven kilometers alone to a highway, where patrol officers spotted him. And in August, in the Ayusai gorge near Almaty, a boy was found after being searched for more than a day.

However, searches for children do not always end well. In October, in Kokshetau, a missing 4-year-old boy was found dead in a water-filled pit at a neighboring construction site. Police opened a criminal case.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that if a child goes missing, one must immediately call 102. It is necessary to provide their description, the place of disappearance, and behavioral characteristics that could help in the search.
