The first October snowfall surprised Kazakhstanis: the popular Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi resort in the East Kazakhstan Region has been buried in snowdrifts, and footage of the snow-covered road to the legendary getaway delighted social media users, according to infohub.kz.
The video was posted by a TikTok user under the nickname N.CARS LOGISTIG during a live stream. The broadcast shows snow-covered paths, gazebos and thick caps of snow on the branches of fluffy firs. The streamer showed a pier blanketed in a dense white layer and shared plans to take a dip in the cool mountain lake.
Users in the comments to the stream noted the beauty of the Katon-Karagay District and shared weather forecasts for their own cities.
"Wow! In Shymkent we're still walking around in T-shirts, and in Katon-Karagay it already feels like winter," one commenter wrote.
"Here in Novaya Bukhtarma it's +16," another user added.
Some viewers admitted they dream of swimming in the hot springs of Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi.
"Are houses near the springs rented by the day? How many tenge per day?" one participant asked.
"If you're going there, you already need to put on winter tires, right?" a viewer asked.
According to Kazhydromet, rain and wind gusts of up to 15-20 m/s are expected today in the East Kazakhstan Region. Thermometers will rise to +11…+13°C. The official forecast does not call for snow, but mountain weather, as it turns out, has its own plans.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that an upgraded road to Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi had opened in the East Kazakhstan Region. Kazakhstanis can now reach the legendary resort two hours faster. The average repair of the section at km 437–450 began in 2025. Along its entire length, the road profile was corrected, a layer of black crushed stone was laid, and the top layer of the road surface was applied.
The next important stage will be the launch of traffic bypassing the Osinovsky Pass. Currently, construction of a bridge crossing is being completed at the site, with its opening planned for the end of October 2026.
