In the UK, a cat named Millie has celebrated her 31st birthday, which is roughly 146 in human years. Her owner believes the secret to her longevity lies in a special diet that includes only bottled spring water, reports infohub.kz.

Leslie Greenhow, a resident of Greater Manchester, said he got Millie as a kitten in 1995. For the past ten years, the cat has drunk only bottled spring water and regularly enjoys salmon, shrimp, tuna, and chicken. The switch to mineral water happened after the pensioner started receiving home deliveries of bottled water during water pipe repairs, and due to the poor quality of tap water, he decided to put his beloved pet on it as well.

The owner dreams of getting Millie into the Guinness Book of Records, but confirming the exact birth date is difficult, as the only evidence is a photograph from 1995. Officially, the title of oldest living cat belongs to 30-year-old Flossie from the UK, while the absolute record is held by Creme Puff, who lived to be 38.
