Some 5,600 people have already used the online booking service for medical and social expertise (MSE), Kazakhstan's Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population said, according to infohub.kz.
The pilot project was first launched in Akmola Region and later extended to Almaty. The system could now be rolled out across all regions of Kazakhstan if it proves sufficiently effective.
The service allows users to choose a date and time for an in-person examination in advance. Citizens no longer need to travel to an MSE office and wait in a live queue.
It is particularly useful for people who have to plan a trip to an MSE office in another locality in advance. The procedure itself remains unchanged — the digital service only speeds up the process.
To book an appointment, users must log in to the Social Services Portal using an electronic digital signature (EDS) and select the "Booking for examination" service in their personal account.
The system then offers available dates and times and automatically identifies the relevant MSE unit based on the applicant's location.
Once the booking is confirmed, an SMS with the date, time, address of the MSE department and ticket number is sent to the user's phone.
Three days before the visit, the system sends an additional reminder. If plans change, the appointment can be cancelled or rescheduled through the personal account.
Earlier, Kursiv Health reported that Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova proposed creating a unified medical tourism platform for Turkic states.
