In Oral, parents of students gathered outside a school after children reported that a classmate had allegedly come to class "with a knife and a rope." The incident occurred today, October 6, according to "Moy Gorod," as reported by infohub.kz.
According to the grandmother of an 11th-grade student, her granddaughter wrote in the morning that a ninth-grader had come to school with a knife and a rope. Parents say information about the incident emerged at around 8–9 a.m. However, they say, the local police officer did not arrive until closer to noon. Parents are also outraged that classes at the school continued.
"They kept the children until one o'clock, and even held classes. How can they study under such stress?! We were told the school principal was busy. I'm simply amazed at the school's calm. I want this boy isolated and removed from the school, otherwise we won't let our children go to school," the woman said indignantly.
In addition, parents claim that over the summer the boy allegedly posted videos on social media showing cruelty to animals — cutting up frogs and dogs.
Meanwhile, the school principal explained that these posts appeared in the summer, when the teenager was staying with his father in the Moscow region. According to her, after the children saw the posts, they became frightened and told their parents. The parents also grew concerned about the situation and suggested the student might come to school with dangerous items.
"We are now looking into the posts. The mother has come, the child too, and we are sitting and talking. I want to tell parents not to worry. The relevant authorities, the police department and the city education department, are involved in the situation. We will get to the bottom of it," the principal said.
She also stressed that no weapon was found on the student. His bag was checked. According to the principal, the boy has been in class since morning, and lessons are proceeding as normal. No complaints about him had previously been received at the school.
