Two oil tankers and a tugboat caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after attempting to pass through an unauthorized route, infohub.kz reports.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported two incidents involving vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the military, one of the oil tankers struck a mine while trying to pass through an unauthorized southern route and caught fire.

A fire also broke out on the second supertanker, forcing the vessel to stop. The tugboat that approached it to help extinguish the flames also caught fire.

In addition, the IRGC Navy reported the seizure of two US LUCAS drones. The military claims it used electronic warfare to intercept control of the devices, landed them and took them under control.

In its statement, the Iranian side also warned the United States about the consequences of attempts to violate shipping rules in the Strait of Hormuz, saying such actions would lead to new financial losses and political setbacks for Washington.
