The prison term of American rapper and producer P. Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has been revised once again: he may now be released on January 21, 2028, according to infohub.kz.
It had previously been expected that the artist would spend several more months behind bars. As USA Today reports, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons has adjusted Combs's release date yet again. The release was initially scheduled for April 2028, then moved to May 8, and later to February 5, 2028. Now it has been pushed forward by nearly two more weeks.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the federal prison FCI Fort Dix. In October 2025, a jury found him guilty on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges — racketeering and sex trafficking.
Since the sentencing, the release date has changed several times, including a reduction under the U.S. First Step Act. An inmate's behavior can also affect the release date. A representative for P. Diddy, Juda Engelmayer, said the artist's side does not know why the Federal Bureau keeps changing the release date.
After leaving prison, Combs will have to remain under supervision for another five years. The court also imposed a number of restrictions on him.
