Paris Jackson, daughter of the late musician Michael Jackson, has asked a court to order the executors of her father's estate to transfer $600 million into a family fund set up for her and her brothers, People reports, according to infohub.kz.
In her court filing, the heiress said that more than 17 years after Michael Jackson's death, the money has still not reached the trust intended for his children. Under the terms of the will, the heirs were to begin receiving regular income from their shares of the fund at age 21 and then withdraw portions of the principal at ages 30, 35 and 40.
Paris Jackson noted that her older brother Prince will soon turn 30 and her younger brother Bigi is already 24, yet the family has still not received the full amount due to them.
Representatives for Paris Jackson stress that as of the end of 2024 the estate's assets totaled about $850 million in cash and equivalents. In their view, those funds are more than enough to set aside $600 million for payments to the children without risk. The heiress also said that after her first questions about the financial management, the amounts of current payments to her and her brothers dropped sharply.
The fund's executors oppose transferring such a large sum. They attribute the delay to unresolved legal disputes, including tax claims of about $700 million from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The administrators say they have already directed more than $200 million to support the three children. A court hearing on the claim is scheduled for December 4.
