Some regions of the United States will have a chance to see a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday. This was reported by infohub.kz.

After North America witnessed two consecutive total solar eclipses, now it's Europe's turn. However, if you look up at the sky on Wednesday and you're far enough north in the U.S. and Canada, you might catch a partial eclipse as the moon takes a bite out of the sun.

Totality will begin near the North Pole, then streak southward across Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and a part of Portugal. Daytime darkness will last no more than a couple of minutes at best — quite short compared to the epic 2024 eclipse in North America. Still, it's continental Europe's first total eclipse since 1999. Spain will get a much longer total eclipse next August, along with North Africa and the Middle East.

For the U.S., the Great American Eclipse of 2017 sparked the sun-vanishing craze with more than two minutes of totality from Oregon to South Carolina. In 2024, the totality duration nearly doubled, racing diagonally from Mexico's Pacific coast to Newfoundland.

America's next coast-to-coast total solar eclipse won't happen until 2045. So catch a partial one now if you can.
