An unusual incident occurred on September 25 at Almaty airport: while boarding a flight from Almaty to Astana, one passenger suddenly left the aircraft. Transport police detained the man and took him to a police station for questioning, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Transport Police Department, the offender turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of Astana. He was held administratively liable under several articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan at once.
"The passenger was held administratively liable under several articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan at once — Article 434 Part 1, Article 440 Part 1, Article 441 Part 1, Article 566 Part 1, and Article 564 Part 4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the statement said.
Specifically, the case concerns appearing in public places while intoxicated, violating flight safety rules, and petty hooliganism.
The Telegram channel Kozachkov offside reported that the passenger who refused to fly was allegedly Olympic boxing champion Daniyar Yeleussinov. The post claimed that the man changed his mind about flying right before takeoff.
The Transport Police Department did not specify the passenger's name.
"The Transport Police Department reminds that the law is the same for everyone, and legal requirements apply to everyone regardless of position, status, or social standing. We urge citizens to demonstrate a high level of legal culture, respect the rights of other passengers, and assist law enforcement agencies in creating a safe environment at transport facilities," police added.
