In Petropavlovsk, a conflict between a 51-year-old patient and a doctor has led to criminal charges for assaulting a medical worker, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department, a tense dialogue between the doctor and patient escalated into physical violence in the clinic corridor. On the morning of August 17, the man came for an appointment and engaged in a heated conversation with the doctor.

"According to the police report, the man reacted aggressively to the doctor's remark and struck him in the face," said the police department.

Police have opened a criminal case for assault that is not life-threatening, committed against a medical worker while on duty.

"This is the second case of violence against a medical worker in the region. In June, in the Shal akyn district, a drunk man struck a nurse who was providing him assistance after a traffic accident. The court sentenced him to 1.5 years in prison," noted Alibek Kuzhakhmetov, First Deputy Head of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department.
