A routine visit to a doctor at a clinic in Petropavlovsk ended in criminal prosecution. A 51-year-old man, who came for an appointment on the morning of August 17, after a verbal altercation, struck a medical worker in the face... reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the police department of the North Kazakhstan region, a conflict arose between the patient and the doctor, which quickly escalated into aggression. After the doctor's remark, the man used physical force.

A criminal case has been opened against the attacker on charges of using violence not dangerous to life or health against a medical worker while performing his official duties.

First Deputy Head of the Police Department of the North Kazakhstan region Alibek Kuzhakhmetov noted that this is the second such incident in the region. The first occurred in June in the Shal akyn district, where a drunk man hit a nurse who was providing him assistance after a traffic accident. The court sentenced him to one and a half years in prison.

The police reminded that since this year, threats or violence against medical workers are subject to criminal liability under Article 380-3 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan.

Earlier, Kursiv reported a similar incident in Pavlodar, where a man who was called an ambulance attacked the crew and trashed the ambulance instead of thanking them.
