A court in Pavlodar has partially upheld a worker's lawsuit against a limited liability company seeking compensation for moral harm following an industrial accident, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the official Telegram channel of the Pavlodar Region courts, a civil cases panel heard a lawsuit filed by an employee against a company seeking 10 million tenge in moral damages over a workplace injury.
The court established that the worker suffered a severe injury to the right foot while performing job duties, which required the amputation of the first toe.
A commission found the employer 100 percent at fault for the accident.
The court of first instance ordered the company to pay 4 million tenge in moral damages and 500,000 tenge in legal representation costs.
After reviewing appeals from both parties, the panel upheld the first-instance court's findings, ruling the compensation amount justified and fair.
The court's decision was left unchanged and the appeals were dismissed. The ruling has entered into force.
