Pavlodar has decided to renew the facades of all apartment buildings on Lermontov Street, where renovation was previously carried out. According to the city akimat, this will give the street a unified architectural appearance, reports infohub.kz.
The renovation on Lermontov Street lasted two years. During this time, the area was completely upgraded, giving it a modern look: an irrigation system, new sidewalks and bike lanes were installed, recreation areas, art objects and small architectural forms, playgrounds and a fountain were added.
This year, on the instructions of the akim of Pavlodar Region, Asain Baikhanov, it was decided to also renew the facades of the high-rise buildings. In total, 20 buildings are located along Lermontov Street, and for each of them it was decided to abandon painting in favor of modern cladding materials.
"We have already put almost all the main roads in the city in order. We are creating recreation areas within walking distance. Now we need to seriously address the external appearance of Pavlodar, primarily the old housing stock. We are gradually moving away from the usual painting of facades. Modern cladding materials are more durable and allow us to form a unified architectural appearance of the city," noted akim of Pavlodar Region Asain Baikhanov.
The renewal of the high-rise buildings will give Lermontov Street a unified architectural appearance. Moreover, the work does not take a formal approach: facades are being clad not only on the central side but also from the courtyards.
"I am a student at the College of Information Technology. Lermontov Street has really become much better; last year the street was improved, and this year they started renewing the facades. After classes, we go out with friends and walk. All conditions have been created. The architectural appearance is in no way inferior to our megacities — Astana, Almaty," says 3rd-year student Daniyal Shampatov.
"I have lived on this street since childhood. It is nice to see it being renewed. The facade now looks very beautiful and neat; the appearance of the whole street changes immediately. It is good that such work is being carried out; I would like to see facade renewal on other streets of the city as well," noted another Pavlodar resident, Olzhas Aitbaev.
It is worth noting that the contractor is carrying out the work quite quickly. The installation does not require complex construction and installation solutions, and they intend to fully complete the renewal by the end of September. At the same time, a similar approach is planned to be applied on other main streets of Pavlodar.
