Yermek Kuchukov, head of the Health Department of the Pavlodar Region, has provided details on the condition of a three-year-old girl who fell into a coma after dental treatment, infohub.kz reports.
In a post on his Instagram page, the head of the regional health department gave details of the child's visit to the dental clinic on October 21. According to him, it was the third visit to the dentist. "No injections or pain relief were administered during the procedure. As her condition worsened, an ambulance crew was called. An anti-shock team arrived and took the child to the regional children's hospital. The child's condition remains extremely serious; she is in a coma on a ventilator. Daily consultations have been and are being held with centers in Astana, and the chief freelance pediatric anesthesiologist and intensive care specialist from Almaty, who is currently in Pavlodar, has been called in for an in-person consultation," Yermek Kuchukov said.
He added that doctors hold consultations every day to assess the child's condition and discuss treatment. "Conversations with the parents are held daily. The mother is at the hospital at all times. I personally visit the child every day. All information is fully communicated to the girl's legal representatives, that is, her mother and father," the head of the department assured.
Yermek Kuchukov specified that, on the instructions of the Ministry of Health, the medical control department has launched an unscheduled inspection of the patient's route. "The health department is also conducting an internal investigation. Law enforcement agencies have seized all video recordings from the dental clinic. The actions or inaction of medical workers will be given a legal assessment," the speaker assured.
