In Pavlodar, the city hospital No. 1, which has been operating since 1956, has reopened after a three-year renovation. The largest medical center in the region received 12.3 billion tenge for its overhaul, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Pavlodar regional akimat, the facility, which is 70 years old, had not seen major repairs for decades. The work began in 2022.
"The total area of the hospital complex is 21,000 square meters, of which 13,000 square meters were renovated. The project, developed in 2020, was funded from local and republican budgets. The total cost of the work amounted to 12.3 billion tenge, of which 8.8 billion tenge was allocated for the purchase of medical equipment," the statement said.
During the renovation, the facades of the main medical buildings, window units, and utility networks were completely updated. The electrical and heat supply systems, water supply and sewage, medical gas, fire alarm, telephony, and local network were replaced 100%.
The wards now have individual bathrooms and showers, and a separate ventilation system was installed on each floor to ensure infection safety.
"The hospital received 1,319 units of new medical equipment, including an X-ray machine, expert-class ultrasound devices, and rehabilitation equipment. Among the most significant acquisitions are a 7th-generation angiograph and CCHP equipment," the akimat said.
