In Pavlodar, a man who fell through the ground and suffered burns has received compensation. The amount of the payment has not been disclosed, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred recently: the man was walking along a sidewalk when he suddenly sank into the ground, ending up in boiling water. The victim sustained serious burns. The regional health department reported that the man, born in 1991, was hospitalized in the burn unit of Pavlodar City Hospital No. 1 with thermal burns of both shins, 2-3 degree, covering 7% of the body. His condition was assessed as moderate.
Later, it became known that the local heating network took full responsibility. The man, who scalded his legs in a pit of boiling water, was paid compensation. According to KTK TV channel, on that day the man was walking with a four-year-old child and suddenly fell through the ground. The child miraculously was not injured.
The management of the heating network does not shirk responsibility for the incident — the cause was identified as a rupture in the heat pipeline. The section where the accident occurred had last been repaired 15 years ago. Now it has been patched up and covered with sand again. As noted in the report, the victim was paid compensation. The amount is not specified, but according to the director of the enterprise, the man has no complaints.
