A tragedy unfolded at the railway station in Pavlodar, where a young man's leg was severed by a train, and he died several days later. The information appeared on social media, according to infohub.kz.

According to a post on Threads, the incident occurred on September 30. The Pavlodar Regional Emergency Medical Station told a NUR.KZ correspondent that the patient, born in 2004, was delivered by an ambulance crew to the Sultanov Regional Hospital on September 30, 2026, in extremely serious condition.

The diagnosis: polytrauma, traumatic amputation of the left lower limb. The young man underwent emergency surgery. Subsequent operations, intensive care, and resuscitation efforts followed.

"Despite the doctors' efforts, due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the patient's death was pronounced on October 8, 2026," medical staff said.

The Transport Police Department reported that a criminal case has been opened by the transport police division at Pavlodar station.

"The necessary investigative actions are currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Other information is not subject to disclosure under Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the department said.
