In Kazakhstan, a 69-year-old man has been held administratively liable for indecent behavior on a train traveling from Mangistau to Almaty. The incident occurred at night in a carriage, where the elderly passenger, according to the victim, behaved provocatively towards a young woman, reports infohub.kz.
Earlier, the woman complained on social media that an elderly fellow passenger had harassed her during the trip. According to her, the man initially struck up an ordinary conversation, but then his behavior changed: he began staring at her, placed his foot on her mattress, and touched her leg. Later, she claimed, he exposed himself and used his phone's flashlight to illuminate himself.
As reported on September 9 by the Specialized Court for Administrative Offenses of Kyzylorda, a case was heard against citizen A. under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. According to the case materials, the 69-year-old man, while in a passenger train carriage, committed indecent acts against passenger Zh., violating public order and the victim's peace.
In court, A. admitted his guilt. His guilt was also confirmed by the victim's statement, her written explanations, a report from a transport police officer, and the administrative offense protocol. When imposing the penalty, the court took into account the offender's advanced age.
By court order, A. was found guilty and fined 86,500 tenge. The court decision has not yet entered into legal force.
