A pensioner ended up in the water on the Bukhtarma reservoir after his boat capsized due to a sudden wind gust. Rescuers came to his aid, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred near the city of Altai. The man had taken his boat out on the reservoir, but a sharp increase in wind caused the vessel to capsize.
"Rescuers patrolling nearby promptly arrived at the scene. They helped the man out of the water, retrieved the boat, and escorted him to a recreation center. Thanks to the rescuers' quick actions, a tragedy was avoided," the report said.
The Emergency Ministry reminded the public to follow safety rules while on the water.
"When going out on the water, always wear a life jacket and follow safety rules," the ministry urged.
