In Petropavlovsk, a passenger's routine complaint about a taxi driver's rudeness led to serious consequences for him: police uncovered a repeat violation of migration laws. According to police in the North Kazakhstan Region, a court sentenced a 42-year-old Tajik citizen to one day of administrative arrest followed by deportation from Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.
During the investigation into the passenger's complaint, law enforcement officers found that the man had been engaged in passenger transportation, even though he had not indicated employment or entrepreneurial activity as his purpose of entry when entering Kazakhstan.
The driver had previously been held administratively liable for a similar violation. Police forwarded the materials regarding the repeat violation within a year to the administrative court.
After deportation, the man will be banned from entering Kazakhstan for five years.
Since the beginning of the year, 679 foreign citizens have been held administratively liable in the North Kazakhstan Region, including 633 for violations of migration laws. Forty-five foreigners were deported from the country, and another 152 had their stay in Kazakhstan shortened.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that starting September 1, 2026, Georgia tightened its rules for employing foreigners. Illegal work carries fines, deportation, or a ban on entry for 2-5 years. Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry reminded that visa-free stay in Georgia for up to 365 days does not grant the right to work.
