Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has suggested that the next reboot of the iconic spy franchise could cast a complete unknown as Agent 007. The news was reported by infohub.kz.
Brosnan shared his thoughts on the casting amid widespread speculation about potential candidates for the lead role. According to the 73-year-old actor, producers could surprise audiences by choosing a performer nobody has heard of yet.
Brosnan stressed that he is merely a spectator in this process, following it with interest and wishing his eventual successor well.
Speaking to journalists, he declined to name favorites, citing his wife's advice not to make public predictions. Meanwhile, his colleague Tom Ellis said that in a private conversation Brosnan called him an excellent candidate for the role of the secret agent. Ellis himself took the remark with humor, noting his age.
Rumors about the project continue to grow as the studio prepares the next film in the spy franchise. Pierce Brosnan played the secret agent from 1995 to 2002 in four films, including GoldenEye and Die Another Day, and remains one of the most recognizable actors to have taken on the role.
