The search for a missing foreign citizen born in 1953 continues in the mountains of Almaty, with the number of rescuers increased from about 50 to 130 and the number of drones from seven to 11. The operation is ongoing around the clock, according to infohub.kz.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the search is concentrated near the Talgar Pass in the Medeu district at an altitude of about 3,200 meters. A command center has been set up at the site, and the operation is coordinated by the leadership of the Almaty Emergency Situations Department.

Search teams are combing hard-to-reach areas, gorges, slopes, and routes leading to passes and peaks. In addition, water bodies in the search area have been examined. Rescuers continue to check new areas and are expanding the search zone.

The operation involves personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the city's Monitoring and Rapid Response Center, the Barys Republican Rescue Service, police, and volunteers from the DSS. In addition to 130 people and 11 drones, eight vehicles, three canine units, and Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation are involved.

The work is complicated by mountainous terrain, significant altitude, and the inaccessibility of certain areas. The territory is being surveyed continuously, taking into account the terrain and weather conditions.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on September 28, the foreign citizen took the Shymbulak cable car with a group and then decided to descend to the city on his own. He did not return to the hotel. A missing person report was received by the 112 emergency line on September 29, and the search began the same day.
