Kazakh goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov once again made his mark in the Champions League, playing a key role in Azerbaijani club Sabah's 1-0 victory over Finnish side KuPS in the second qualifying round. The win marked Sabah's third consecutive triumph in their debut season, reports infohub.kz.
The match, held at Bank Respublika Arena in Masazır, saw the hosts take the lead through Serbian forward Veljko Simić's goal in first-half stoppage time. Pokatilov, who captained the side, kept a clean sheet and played the entire match without being substituted.
The return leg against KuPS is scheduled for July 28 in Kuopio. Sabah continues its confident run in the Champions League, enjoying an impressive start to the campaign.
