In Almaty, police have shut down an underground drug laboratory operating in a local resident's garage. This was reported by the website infohub.kz, citing the press service of the Almaty Police Department.
Operatives identified a 35-year-old man who had previously been convicted of a drug-related crime. A district inspector of the Turksib district, together with operational officers, detained him at one of the rented properties in the district.
During a search of the garage on Glazunov Street, behind closed gates, dozens of containers with liquids, which are preliminarily classified as precursors, as well as laboratory flasks and other equipment, were found. In total, 48 containers with three types of liquids were seized, along with laboratory flasks packed in 15 boxes.
A mobile phone, which may be relevant to the investigation, was also found at the scene. All seized items have been sent for examination. The purpose of the discovered substances, the origin of the equipment, and the possible connections of the detainee are being established. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
