In Akmola Region, police detained the driver of an Infiniti who removed his license plate to avoid camera detection and reach Kostanay from Astana faster, reports infohub.kz.
According to the regional police department's press service, the incident occurred on September 18 at around 9:00 a.m. Officers from the patrol police battalion, together with KazAvtoZhol representatives, spotted via cameras a driver who had removed the vehicle's license plate.
Police immediately began tracking the Infiniti. About two hours later, the car was stopped at the 230th kilometer of the Astana–Petropavl highway.
During the check, it was found that while driving, the man was talking on his mobile phone and was not wearing a seat belt.
"The man did not deny the violation. He explained that he removed the plate so that automatic cameras could not recognize his car and record an average speed violation. According to the driver, he wanted to reach Kostanay from Astana faster this way," the Akmola Region police department said.
As a result, administrative reports were drawn up against the driver for three violations. A preventive talk was held with him.
