Video of police officers on board an aircraft operating the Taraz–Astana flight has spread across Kazakhstan's Instagram community. The Transport Police Department explained what prompted the inspection, infohub.kz reports.

The footage shows officers inspecting the cabin of the airliner. The author of the post claimed the inspection began after one passenger refused to fly and that the flight was delayed.

The department clarified that the man approached a flight attendant during boarding and said he was refusing the flight for family reasons.

"On 18 October 2026, during boarding of passengers on board an aircraft operating the Taraz–Astana route, one of the citizens approached a flight attendant and stated that he was refusing the flight for family reasons. In this connection, the established procedures for removing the passenger and his baggage from the flight were initiated," the Transport Police Department said.

According to the department, the inspection found no prohibited substances or items in the area of the passenger's seat. No complaints or claims were received by police from airline representatives or other passengers.

It was also noted that a similar incident occurred before a departure from Almaty to Astana: a passenger left the aircraft and was subsequently taken to a police station and held accountable.
