In Shymkent, police have brought to account a man who left a comment on TikTok threatening to "inflict 72 stab wounds" in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Nurai Serikbay. The incident sparked widespread public outcry after a screenshot of the comment circulated on social media, and the victim's family lawyer appealed to law enforcement... reports infohub.kz.
The author of the comment turned out to be a 37-year-old resident of Shymkent. During the investigation, he explained that his statement referred not to Nurai herself, but to the person accused of her murder. According to the man, he was answering a question about what he would do with the suspect. He also offered public apologies to the victim's family, emphasizing that he does not support violence and that his words were misinterpreted.
The Shymkent police department confirmed that the identity of the comment's author has been established. In response to a request from Kursiv, it stated: "He has been brought to administrative responsibility under Part 3-1 of Article 456-2 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses, namely for posting and distributing illegal content. In addition, a preventive conversation was held with the citizen about the inadmissibility of committing such offenses in the future and the need to strictly comply with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan."
Recall that 21-year-old Nurai Serikbay was killed in Shymkent on January 11, 2026. According to the investigation, the accused ambushed the girl near a store, inflicted fatal stab wounds, and attempted to flee, but was soon detained.
