On the Western Europe-Western China highway in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region, police officers came to the aid of a bus carrying young footballers from Uzbekistan that broke down en route. The incident occurred at the 568th kilometer of the road near the village of Nurlukent in the Zhualy district, reports infohub.kz.

The vehicle carried 42 citizens of Uzbekistan — 37 children and five adult chaperones. The team was returning home after participating in an international football tournament in Kyrgyzstan when the breakdown happened.

Responding to the distress call, police quickly organized an evacuation. To shield the children from the scorching sun, they were taken along with their chaperones to the Nurlukent village House of Culture. "Hot meals were arranged for the guests, drinking water was provided, and all necessary conditions for rest were created," police told Polisia.kz.

After a replacement bus arrived, the young athletes resumed their journey home. Police noted that thanks to the coordinated and swift actions of officers, the situation was resolved without any consequences. None of the children were injured in the incident.
