Political analyst Ashimbayev assesses Tokayev's response to Mangystau emergency

Political analyst Daniyar Ashimbayev has assessed the authorities' response to the tragedy in the Mangystau Region, where servicemen died. According to him, the state demonstrated the ability to respond promptly to crises under difficult conditions, infohub.kz reports.

As the expert noted, the authorities' response to the deaths of servicemen in the Mangystau Region allowed the situation to be brought under control quickly, despite the emotional resonance and attempts to spread false information on social media. State bodies showed restraint and organization in working with one of the country's key regions.

The authorities organized parallel work in three areas: information coverage, investigation into the causes of the emergency, and social and political support. The region launched rapid rebuttals of fakes, an authoritative deputy prime minister headed the government commission, and the process of collecting aid for the families of the deceased was centralized without unnecessary publicity.

The actions of the head of state played a special role in containing the crisis.

"Qasym-Jomart Toqaev, one could say, did what a real commander should do. Without populism or shifting responsibility. To help — yes, to punish — yes, but also to immediately set out an understanding of the problem, a vision of how to prevent such a situation in the future, and a readiness to address it," Daniyar Ashimbayev said.

The expert noted that the President of Kazakhstan did not limit himself to standard condolences and promises to punish those responsible. Toqaev affirmed the state's responsibility, conducted a tough review of systemic problems, and announced reforms in the defense department.

"Let us note that society instantly picked up on this mood and adequately perceived the actions of Astana as a whole and its president in particular," the political analyst emphasized.

He concluded that in the current situation, citizens saw the main thing — an understanding of the problem on the part of the country's leadership and a clear prospect for solving it.
