In July of this year, 169,100 vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan, a 0.7% increase compared to June when the figure stood at 167,900 units. These data are provided by the Bureau of National Statistics, citing information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, reports infohub.kz.
Passenger cars accounted for the largest share of total registrations at 87.7%. They were followed by trucks (5.6%), trailers (2.4%), buses (0.9%), motorcycles (0.8%), and other types of vehicles (2.6%).
Among passenger cars, vehicles with engine displacement from 1.5 to 2 liters were the most popular: 59,530 such vehicles were registered during the month, accounting for 35.2% of all registrations. In second place were cars with engines up to 1.5 liters (35,277 units, 20.9%), and in third place were those with displacement of 2–2.5 liters (24,550, 14.5%). Cars with engines of 2.5–4 liters were chosen by 23,027 owners (13.6%), over 4 liters by 3,644 (2.2%), and other options by 2,218 (1.3%).
It should be noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs' statistics do not include a breakdown by make and model, so it is impossible to determine which specific brands led in registrations in July based on these data.
The largest number of cars with engines of 1.5–2 liters were registered in Almaty (6,160 cars), Astana (5,436), and the Almaty region (5,340).
