An emergency power outage hit several districts in Almaty. According to the emergency map from the company Alatau Zharyk, the following locations were temporarily without power: Ryskulov Prospect, Zhandeldin Street, Bayanaulskaya Street, and Shemyakina Street; Serikov Street, Omarov Street, Zhansugurov Street, and Artilleriyskaya Street, as well as the microdistricts Askar Tau and Ermensay; Bukhar Zhyrau Boulevard, Zharokov Street, Basenov Street, and Baizakov Street; Abay Prospect, Masanchi Street, Zhambyl Street, and Adi Sharipov Street; Polezhaev Lane, Raiymbek Prospect, and 2nd Goncharnaya Street.
The cause of the outage is currently under investigation. Power supply is expected to be restored within approximately 2–3 hours.
