State corporation Government for Citizens has responded to an Astana prosecutor's office report alleging that employees of the capital's special public service center (spetsTSON) illegally issued driver's licenses, the website infohub.kz reports.
Several days ago, the Astana prosecutor's office announced it had uncovered an alleged organized criminal group at the capital's spetsTSON whose members are suspected of illegally issuing driver's licenses. According to the supervisory agency, 74 people obtained licenses illegally through this fraudulent scheme in 2025.
The press service of the Government for Citizens state corporation stressed that all the facts cited in the prosecutors' publication had been uncovered by the state corporation itself and handed over to law enforcement agencies, on which basis criminal cases were opened.
"The state corporation also provided all necessary assistance during the investigation. By the way, in March of this year the state corporation already informed the public about the work being carried out on these facts and the transfer of the relevant materials. We note that the circumstances cited in the publication relate to past periods when vulnerabilities existed in certain public service delivery processes. In subsequent years, the state corporation consistently worked to eliminate them, improved service delivery procedures, strengthened internal controls and took measures to minimize corruption risks," the response statement reads.
Government for Citizens added that over the 10 months of 2026, 1,055 violations were detected across all areas, compared with 2,602 in the same period of 2025.
The press service also noted that the national joint-stock company adheres to a "zero-tolerance policy toward corruption" and intends to continue improving public service delivery processes.
